I am using this holiday break to make progress on writing "CJKV Information Processing" Second Edition. Here is my publisher's page for First Edition: http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/cjkvinfo/

I have been working on Chapter 3, which I consider to be the core of the book, and sets the stage for revising the other chapters and appendixes. In fact, it could stand alone as a book in and of itself. I am typesetting the book as I write (that is my writing style), and Chapter 3 broke 100 pages yesterday afternoon, and currently has 114 tables. (For comparison, Chapter 3 of First Edition had 73 pages.) I used Adobe FrameMaker to typeset First Edition, and this time I am using Adobe InDesign CS3.

Anyway, while I am getting lots of things to photograph, such as the Black + Black/Tan G-10 Hell Razor that arrived yesterday, the 31st through 33rd BCS Game Wardens that may arrive today, and a couple new Randalls, I need to focus on getting Chapter 3 done, so that I can start Chapter 4, whose revision is important, but much less extensive when compared to Chapter 3.

Don't worry, though. When I find free time, or simply need a break from writing, I will use a couple hours to take some photos of the new toys.

One of these days I need to learn to type, though I may be too old (42) to do so at this point.

Sounds like a much needed book, for someone other than me.:D
Not much sense wishing you good luck on it as it appears edition 1 was the definitive work on this subject.
BTW 42 is not old when you're 52.:grumpy:

That pufferfish on the cover has some serious attitude in his expression. I don't know if he is taunting me for not knowing what CJKV means, but I think that he is. :p

I am very glad there are people like you who are willing to write that stuff down so people like me don't have to. ;)

Ken congrats on the book
While it would make a good read for someone in my line of work, I do hope your next book is a pictorial history of Busse knives. I'll bet there's a few hogs around who would consider it a must have. :D:D:D

Congrats, I'm a big fan of O'Reilly materials ... quality stuff. You got the blowfish ... looks like no OpenBSD books coming out of O'Reilly anytime soon. ;)
