In my recently blocked Lynn Thompson post, I made some cooments and/or insinuations that were quite inappropriate. All I can say is that It was late and I was somewhat delirious. I am really sorry if I offended anyone, because I suppose I thought it was funny, but upon reading it, it just seems very stupid.

Please don't allow my misjudgement to make you think that I am just some idiot kid. I respect most of the opinions I read on this forum, and would like people to respect mine, so I just wanted to formally apologize for any grief or disgust I may have provoked.

Stiletto,

Don’t worry about it too much, we have all had our less lucid moments here. Don’t let it dampen your enthusiasm or quash your sense of humor. I mean, we are here to relax and have fun, as well as maybe learn a little something

Being funny is a good thing, just remember that strangers (and unfortunately most of us here are really strangers) have a hard time knowing when you're joking or just how you mean your joke. If your joke has a critical edge to it, either save it for close friends or at least use your smileys.

Let us now move on, and let this thread too drop quietly to Screen #2.

Psychology studies show that around 90% of personal conversations rely on facial expressions. This of the complications of the inrternet, forums and email. You don't know if someone is being sarcastic, serious or just plain lightening up.

What I do not like about the forums is how easy it is to mistake a 'beer joke' with well.. something else. I find that sometimes people are out to start a flame war or throw opinions left and right to trounce others. Whether justified or not it depends.

I saw your post as a joke. I agree that I hope this experience doesn't dampen your spirits. and yes

do help.

guys we all need to lighten up. GIve everyone the benefit of the doubt before a flame. We're all one family right?

Sniperboy - truer words have never been spoken...

I am in the same position as stiletto - and I am getting my ass kicked for posting a stupid joke and then deleting it - without deleting the subject.

Well I did apologize and explained it all in another post, but I also think that we can all lighten up.

A bit of wisdom from that classic movie, "Stripes".

"Lighten up, Francis..."

When we take ourselves and life too seriously, I think we miss out on the simple joys and smiles we could be sharing. I took the post as a joke in the first place, and I thought Blilious' explanation of his deleted post was pretty funny, too, but maybe that's just me. From time to time, I've been told, however, that I should "get serious".

Na-a-a-h. Why bother?

This supports my suggestion many months ago about forming a dedicated apology forum. It was quickly censored.

Your on Jake, I'll take that bet. What are we talking money or marbels?

Phil, you are spending Way to much time here. You seem to have forgotten two important facts when you made your wager with Jake.

1. You ain't got no job therefore you ain't got no money to bet

2. You already lost your marbles

S.R. I like outrageous fiction. But when you write very colorful scenes of violence and your characters are Real People, it's not really very much fun to read and could be expected to upset people. Glad to see you understand now.

stjames: I like it, I do. It really sort of Fits here in This thread. But there are some things best Not learned

Besides this one I couldn't lose, but only if Jake didn't know I have nothing to bet with.

SR I guess I'll fess up and say I laughed my ass off.But officially, for the record,I guess it was bad.I think it might have passed better if you had posted it in the community forum.I see all kinds of crazy stuff over there.BTW Lynn wouldn't be too hard on you ,you are a walkin talkin Cold Steel advertisement. It is obvious you like the products. Its nice having you around.

I also laughed my ass off. (I also felt bad when people told me how wrong it was.

Funny stuff, but it was inappropriate on this forum. Next time try Community and don't forget the smilies.
