thought maybe some of you fellers might have run across what i'm looking for in your searches for heat treating ovens and such...i'm looking for something to melt metals in, stuff like copper, silver, brass...an electric oven...i know they make them for jewelry making and such, but i was hoping to find something for the hobbiest that would have the capacity to melt say, a pint or maybe even a quart of metal...

i'm a little tired of the "make your own" route - for this application, i'd like to get something factory-made and reliable...looking for recommendations for good, reliable brand names...

thanks!

Do a google on melting furnace and you will get lots of help. Most larger melting furnaces are gas,but there are electric ones too.You can get an electric melting pot to hold a fair amount of metal, too. Swest,Gesswein,Kerr,Neycraft,Stuller, and a bunch of jewelery and casting companies have all you will need.
Read up on and learn a lot about casting and smelting before you start this line of work.Molten metals are VERY dangerous. They can explode in a rain of 2500 degree hail.Drop a hot piece of metal on your shoe and it melts you sneaker - Drop molten brass on your shoe and you have no foot left.
