This knife was developed / designed for a SORT (Special Operations and Rescue Team) in So. Carolina. A good friend, customer and fourm member SkagSig40 had to have one once he saw it. He likes big, beefey knives, and this one fits the bill. It is made from 1/4" thick 1095 carbon steel. It has a five inch blade and is 10 1/4" oal. The team had final say on steel choice, and felt comfortable with 1095's track record. My only concern was the corrsoion issue, but we were able to overcome that by having the knives coated with Tungsten DLC by Bodycote. I think she weighs in at a mere 13 oz's ;)

She is headed your way Chris. Enjoy and put her to good use.

Thanks for taking a look,

David Dempsey

I got it today David and I must say I LIKE!!!!! I think the handle is the most comfortable I have ever held, it is smooth and fills the hand just right! The DLC coating also looks great on the blade and I'm curious to see how it will hold up with some use. I'll keep you posted on that.
You'll have to tell us how the team liked their knives and what they will be using them on! Thanks again!

David, you're killin' me here! I'm not even finished settling details for ONE knife with you, when you come along and post pics of ANOTHER lovely! Man, I'm gonna be working 8 days a week soon, just to keep up. <g>

Gorgeous hunk of steel here, David. I really like! e-mail me some details on costs, OK?

:p
