Has anyone else become addicted to those Cool Mint Listerine PocketPaks thingees? I got one in my stocking and am now hooked on them. I have used them to replace the mints that I pop all day long. (And, No, I don't have particularly deadly breath, I am just trying to avoid partaking of the vending machine).

I got some of those the other day myself. At 1st didn't really care for them because they kept sticking to the roof of my mouth. Now, there almost like candy.

If you like the Listerine variety, there is a more traditional mint flavor -Myntz Instastripz - much nicer flavor than the Listerine strips.

If you like strong - I have some tiny little mints that kick Altoids A**! They were a promo from a pharmaceutical rep - little tiny tin - almost painfully intense! Personally, I like the cinnamon altoids or Sqyntz (tart, fruit-flavored candies).

Flotsam-

I've had those exact mints! promo from a pharmaceutical company (Forest,I believe). Smaller than a Tic-Tac, stronger than Altoids!

I usually use Zingos. Sugar-free, in a tin like Altoids and even come in a caffeinated version.

I use the Altoids(wintergreen), Lifesavers(wintergreen, green bag) and the Listerine strips. I just started the Listerine strips. I can only handle one at a time. I haven't tried 2 quickly. :)
Zingo's I used for awhile, especialy in church on sunday mornings. :)

Love those Listerine thingys too...

My wife got me a big thing o' Altoids for Xmas. I like them as does my dog. And since it improves her breath, it's win-win!

Mynts are good as are the Squynts and Zingoes. Target has their own brand of small cinnamon mints that are quite stong.

Altoids, I think, are like Tabasco -- at first they seem way strong, then they get you hooked on stronger stuff and they seem mild, but they are still the best as far as taste goes.

Geez, mint lightweights if you think Altoids are "strong"! :) The strongest mints I've found are Starbucks After-Coffee Mints, available in a little tin at Starbucks. Altoids are to Starbucks Mints as jalapenos are to habaneros! No kidding. I otherwise dislike Starbucks, I don't buy coffee there.

Nearly as strong are a little oval gray tin of mints I found at Target (sold at the cash registers as an impulse buy). From hazy memory, they're called simply Mintz.

Ya, that sums it up! BTW, I found some Altoids-like mints that I like better than Altoids. They're called Titanic mints, I have no idea if they're still made, I found them after a search on the internet. Flavor-wise they're very good.

Ah, just did a google search, and found them at:

http://www.funstuffstuff.com/titanicmints.html (but out of stock)

and

http://www.mintshop.com/titanic_esm.htm (in stock!)

They're about as "hot" as Altoids, give 'em a try if you like these kind of mints.

One word of warning that I'll pass on (via my dentist) about "breath mints:" while they are designed to make your breath smell fresh, they also give you a false sence of having clean teeth. That "full" sort of taste can really cover a lot of bad stuff happening in your mouth. They are great for improving breath, but please don't use them as a substitute for proper cleaning, brushing and dental care. I have the dental bills to back this one up!

Joe -- tried some of the Starbucks mints, cinnamon mints, and gum.

Love the gum. Strong but tasty.

The cinnamon mints seem week compared to the comparable sized ones they have at Target.

The regular mints didn't seem that strong until I tried them en masse WOW. 5 at once. Quite strong. Not a great flavour really, IMHO, though.

Will try those Titanic mints when I get a chance.

Maury -- good point. Suppose that is a point in favour of the Listerin thingies which actually have antseptic properties.

Mynts (brand name) are supposed to reduce the acid level in your mouth. Whether this helps anything or not, I have no idea.

Squynts have Vitamin C. Not sure they freshen your breath much but they taste good.

Penguin mints are caffenated, which can be good or bad, depending on your intentions.

Anyone like Everest gum?

Also, what all do you do with your tins? I have stamps, dice, nails, sewing needles, etc. in mine. Handy little buggers...

yeah, i really like the listerine ones myself. they sell them in six packs at cosco if you're tired of paying a buck fifty a piece. gonna have to try those squynts...

Clay:

I agree the Starbucks mints aren't the best-tasting. But they are by far the strongest I've tried. Incomparably stronger than Altoids and that ilk. Have you tried someting stronger? If so, I'd love to know what they are!

One other option is the Certs extra-strong mints, they come in a thin plastic credit-card shaped plastic container. They aren't as strong as Starbucks, but they taste much better.

Had some of those listerine Pocketpacs and every time they stuck to the roof of my mouth and i guess somehow went into my nose. My friends all started laughing at me cause my eyes starting watering, my whole nose and mouth were burning. This happened to me about 5 times! I hate those things
