Hey Raymond that a beauty. Thanks for the close up of the handle. I posted a question to you the other day, but you may have missed it. Can you tell me where you buy your african blackwood? Thanks.

Funny you asked about blackwood. I just got back from my favorite wood store and blackwood was the main reason I went. Here's a link: http://www.gilmerwood.com/

Lookin good Ray, you'd better hang on to that stag, the way the prices are going up it's a better investment then oil stocks. ;)

Looks beautiful Ray. Good to see you back up and running full swing after your loss.

Great looking blade.
How do you attach those butcaps and put the grove in them? I like the ring too.

Larry

Larry, All my knives a threw tangs with the end of the tang threaded. The ring actually goes threw a wrought iron nut that I make that holds everything together while I'm working on the knife. To match the butt cap to the stag its a matter of scribing the stag to it and grinding and fileing it to shape. Samething goes with the spacer. My goal is not to remove any bark from the stag. The nut allows me to assemble and disassemble the knife as many times as need be.

Very cool, I realy like the way you sculpt the ferrel and but cap to the stag, nice extra touch.
