So, I finally got around to making myself a knife. The theme is based on my last deployment to Iraq, and is an inside joke I shared with a few of the people I was there with. It is also kind of benchmark test of what I've learned over the past year. The handle is Macassar Ebony carved like a goat's foot. The steel is 1084, differently tempered, the guard is nickel and brass.
The second is a knife I made for a very good friend. He's a bigger LOTR fan than I am, and asked me to attempt a knife fitting of a middle earth ranger. The blade is W2 and the handle is With and Black Ebony. The guard is brass and bronze clay. The guard was a test run of metal clay, and was successful in my humble opinion.
