Sound bars for home theater

Anybody have experience with these? I just moved into an apartment and got a Sony HT-CT100 for the bedroom. It seems to work pretty well in a small room, and now I'm thinking of going with the Yamaha YSP-4000 for my living room. I just don't have the room for rear surrounds, wireless or otherwise, and the sound bars seem to be the best bet. I'd like to hear any real-world experience people have with them, though, before I drop the coin.
