Well . . . the purpose was to give Spark money to support the site. He might have figured that he was going to be spending money on the blades anyway, so he just put the money he was going to use to purchase them towards his bills, and kept the blades.

But, that's just my take. I don't know the whole story, so if someone says I'm wrong, that's fine.
 
It's been almost a year since the blades were donated and if I were one of the makers that had donated one... it would be like a spit in the face to wait this long to see them auctioned. If someone just decided to keep them rather than auction them off... well... I have a tree and a rope
 
I do believe I did see one or two on the bay a while back... Not sure how many or what was exactly donated. Jerry sure came to the plate with some nice ones for sure!!

Yes -- I would definitely like at a shot at the auction knives. And I'd imagine that Spark would like the revenue...
 
there was an emerson on ebay a few months ago. i think it was a bf auction. i also remember one of the hr's on ebay. i think.
