I received a letter from Nepal. Wanted to share most of it with you. Sounds like things may be not so good.

Namaste & Tashi delek!

I hope you are fine and doing well. Our winter vacation is finished and from tomorrow we have our regular classes as ususal. Here we have a big rain today and its really cold now.I went factory few days before to see the people and my Grandpa.Well everything is ok.Here the situation is getting worse coz Maoist had stopped all transportation (Truck, Busses,Cars) out of valley for 1000 hours and because of these reason cost of everything here is getting Higher. Its really hard for the poor people to survive.I hope closing Transportation of goods will not be for 1000 hours.Well I have some of my pictures whic I took recently I will send them soon.Nothing more, now I am freezing will write you more on next mail untill then take care and good bye!

This is from Pala's grandson, Uncle Bill and Yangdu's nephew. I hope things don't continue to escalate.

Sorry to hear the situation is so bad. I visited Kathmandu about 5 years ago and saw some Commies gathering, but did not get into the politics. I know since the death of the royal family, things have gotten worse.

I would like to go to Nepal again someday to do some trekking/climbing if I still can.

I hope everything works out for democracy.
