Sounds silly, but how do i post pics?

Hey. I have been on these forums for a long time now, but i still can't figure out how to post pics. I am in no means computer savvy, but i CAN do some of the basics, so hopefully someone will help me out. If i have the pictures saved in "My Pictures" on my computer, how do i go about getting an image from there to here in one of my postings? Thanks for the patience, and no, this isn't a joke.

You have to up load your pictures on a hosting site like photobucket. From there, when posting or creating a thread from the 'advanced' menu click the "insert image" icon and it will let you post a link from your Photobucket page.

Hope this is clear enough, let me know if you need more help.
 
Oh, i see a lot of people talking about photobucket.. Can i just go to photobucket site, or do i need to know anything about it? i heard of viruses with it? thanks so far!
 
Photo bucket is a decent image hosting site, its easy and free to use. There are a lot of adds which slow things down a bit but over all I think its one of the best options out there.
 
You can try imageshack, too...I've moved there since PB was having virus problems.
