I'm having trouble finding a source for 1050. I'm looking for 5/32nds by 1 and 1/4" but I'll take anything between 1" and 1.5". Plenty of places seem to have rounds but I wasn't planning or forging these, just looking for something to grind out a few throwing knives on to test a new design.

Any help would be appreciated!

I recently did a thread about this and I couldn't find any. I needed it rectangular not square though but couldn't find any 1050 at all anywhere. I eventually got some 1075 from Aldo because it suited my purposes. I hope you find some, let us know if you do.

Yeah the steel store doesn't Carey 1050 but they had 1045 just not in the size I'm looking for. But I'll be sure to post if I find a source for 1050. I mean I can always forge it out of a round but my anvil is so small it would be more trouble
than it's worth.

I think Aldo had some.

He has 1080 square stock, and some great 1075 with low Mn.

I cant even find 1050 round..Ive been trying to find a source of 1050 for a while, Id really like to know if you do..The only source I have found is railroad spring clips that are spec'd out to about 1050. Since theres only one or two companys that makes them they are usually pretty close in composition..They are close to 1/2" in thickness though..

1045 round, hardened, ground polished round shafting is a common industrial material even i can get here from my local industrial steel suppliers.

it's more expensive, but local means no shipping too.

1045 is a pretty good material for throwing spikes n knives. Patrick of www.Flyingsteel.com uses 1045 pretty extensively. I recently made a cold chisel from some 1045, cut mild steel like butter. Easy to HT too, brine quench, torch or oven temper or even latent heat temper.
