Figure I'd put these two in one post so as not to annoy y'all as much. :)

First off, anyone have source for 5/8" arbor buffing wheels? Need them for buffing side of my Grizzly here. Checked Home Depot and Ace Hardware. Will Checks Steves Wholesale Tools and Harbor Freight tomorrow, but already checked HF on the web and they don't seem to have them.

Secondly, is a Hitension hacksaw really that much better than a regular one? I have a standard 10/12" adjsutable hacksaw from Craftsman which I have had for years. Is it worth the extra $25 to get a hitension hacksaw? Do'nt think I've ever seen one before, but saw one while I was at Ace today, and remembered someone mentioning them as their solution for cutting out blades. Do they make that much of a difference over a standard hacksaw?

Hey Joel, you might try Jantz or Texas knifemakers supply, other than that you might try the grinder manufacturer. Steves might have it. As for the hi tension hacksaw, I honestly could not tell you if there is a difference, I always thought a hacksaw was a hacksaw.

etp777,

I use a 5/8 end mill to ream 1/2 inch buff wheels to 5/8 (REAM BY HAND ONLY!!!, PLEASE - DANGER IF END MILL IS POWERED FOR THIS). It starts a little hard but goes well and pretty fast by hand.

An end mill like this does not cost much from a place like Enco (on the web) especially if you get one in high speed steel. Maybe you mill and have one already.

The above tip was given me by Pop @ Pop's.
