I need one or two new 64 1/2" x 1/2" bi-metal bandsaw blades, 18-24 tpi. Prices seem to be all over the map, as is shipping. What brands would you recommend, and sources please.
Mark Knapp, one of the forum members & super knife maker, sells bi-metal blades.
He made up a batch for me a short while back that I use for resawing.
Man they cut nice and outlast my old blades so long that there is no way to compare.
I was very happy with the blades and the service I got from Mark.
This is who I use and have been very happy with them. They make about 4 different sizes for me for both my wood and metal cutting saws.
They do all the welding for Lennox from what I have heard. http://www.spectrumsupply.com/diemaster2.aspx
I have orderd several times from the Tool Center and have been pleased with the delivery time and shipping cost. I got 3 blades shipped for around $75. Not bad since I can't but them locally.
You can check locally at Grainger, McMaster Carr, Home depot did carry replacements for a while but my local no longer carries them, they worked as well as any bimetal.
