I just got some ferric acid and want to try doing a heat ano, figured I might as well spend the money on something I could use.
Coming up blank from Google and site searches. Anyone know where to find them?

I guess I don't get what you're asking. A simple google search turns up thousands of results for titanium pens that you can DIY anodize yourself.

Or are you looking for parts for a pen you can make yourself? Again, google led to lots of titanium tubes you could throw a BIC refill into, or put whatever other mechanism you want into.

I searched for "pen blanks" which is more of a wood turning term, I am looking for titanium pens already made- sorry if that wasn't clear. I'm not sure if the grade of titanium matters. Basically something that is ready to try anodizing.

The response is funny; it delivers the same results I got though, expensive pens. In this case, just like there are kits for wood turning, I am looking for a kit for building a titanium pen. It's - as you have proven- not a matter of just doing a Google search. I'm certain there are build your own parts out there so I can try doing a heat ano without using $80+ finished products as test pieces.

There are a few examples of titanium rod stock available on the big river in different diameters. You could cut to desired length and experiment with anodizing. They're not hollow, but if it's just for playing around for now, they should do the trick.

Thanks! This is closer to what I am looking for. Not sure what the big river is, but on "TMS Titanium" I found stuff that's about $2/inch for 10mm or so. Springs are also widely available. Probably wouldn't be that complicated to cut threads into some tubing and use the guts of another pen.
Appreciate the help.
I have some some ferric chloride on hand just to mess around and see how heat anodization works. Thinking I will try it on my titanium EDC gear, so it doesn't really matter if I get flat, tubes, or scrap.

Childish. I don't think we need to code talk about Amazon or Ebay. Nothing against your reply Canuck, just the trolls in the cheese dungeon which I'm sure sooner or later will be shut down due to the fact they add absolutely zero to this community.

You come in here and ask a super vague question, and then get mad when people are not going to go on a fishing expedition for you? LOL

Ok, then.

Countycomm has a titanium "EDC Pendulum Pen" for sale but it's like $50 and pretty dinky, comes with a kinda slick little case though.

The Parker Pen Company made the T-1 series of Titanium pens and pencils back in 1970. They were deep drawn like an Aluminum beer can and thus very light weight. Not surprisingly, due to production problems, they were only made for 6 mos. Shown is the Roller Ball.
The machined Ti pens are quite clunky by comparison. The Fisher pens are deep drawn brass and are coated with Ti ceramics like TiAlN.View attachment 1453943

So here's my interpretation of the rules.
We want to support our dealer members, so we don't promote their competitors.

♦ So if it's a knife, and the outfit being talked about is a store that sells multiple brands of knives, that's an ix-nay.
♦ A generic mention of eBay doesn't normally raise any issues. Mention of a specific seller on eBay does.
♦ Knives sold on Amazon is usually frowned on, especially a link to one.

♦ But if the item in question is not something sold by the average knife retailer, I don't worry about it unless it's a spam link.
♦ "Pens" is kind of a grey area, as some of our dealer members also sell pens. So be generic in your site descriptions, don't provide links, and I can keep sipping my beer.
