Hello all!
I wanted to ask about some good sources for customs on the internet. I have been to KnifeArt.com and Arizona Custom Knife and they are fantastic, but I'm sure I'm missing out on so much more.
I truly love customs and since where I live has few knife shows (or at least too few for me...) I like to do quite a bit of internet shopping. (Plus I can stare as much as I want and not bother anyone.

So, what's out there?
Thanks for your input in advance.

First, let me say that I have never met Les Robertson (the moderator of this forum) in person and I have no type of business dealings with him other than as a customer. His sight www.robertsoncustomcutlery.com/rcc/rccmain.shtml is the one of the best on the net for looking at custom knives. The only other one in the same class is Arizona Custom Knives. I have bought 3 knives from Les this year. He is a good business man and can cut your waiting time in half and you pay the makers list price on most knives (not Emerson's though.) Other than AZCK and RCC, go to the links page here and plan on surfing for a while.
Good Luck,
Lewis

Another vote for Les, I even bought an Emerson custom from him for less than the "going rate" and his service was prompt and friendly.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from him again and he always has lots of good stuff!

The two sites mentioned above cover A LOT of ground. If you know what you're looking for, you don't need to go much further.

On second thought, there is another place you can check out:

www.horn-net.com/ikd

International Knife Directory contains links to custom maker web sites. Good if you want to go directly to the source.

Les Robertson is an extremely courteous, friendly, honest and knowledgable dealer. I have purchased four knives from him, one of which was used, and exactly in the condition stated. All knives were purchased at extremely reasonable prices.

He, with Rob Simonich, A.T.Barr, Kit Carson, and Darrel Ralph are some of the few people I would send a certified check for the full amount of the knife without concern for integrity. Contrast this with my post to 'Duped?' on this forum, where I advise people to use credit cards if not sure of the dealer or maker.

I must admit that of the above makers and dealers, the only knife I own made by one of them is an A.T. Barr folder (Kit Carson, Darrel Ralph, and Rob Simonich are in the process of making knives for me, so I will soon rectify my shortage).

The A.T.Barr folder has the most incredible workmanship I have ever seen. It is beautiful, but equally functional: the action of the liner lock actually stunned me, and I have about 50 folders, some from well known makers. He is an artistic engineer. I was impressed, and it takes a lot to impress this cynical old ER doc! Mr. Barr, may you live long and continue to make great knives. Respectfully submitted. WW

PS: you know the saying, 'The best knife you own is the one you carry with you; the others you leave at home.' The A.T.Barr folder, work of art that it is, resides in my R jeans pocket. There would be something wrong about putting it in a safe deposit box.
Damn; it is a great knife. Walt
