Anyone know where to find a pair of liners for the full-sized grip? I want to modify the handles on my new M4 grip and don't want to screw up the existing liners. Spydero sells parts for the Endura but Benchmade doesn't seem to sell parts for the Grip. Any info appreciated!

I would imagine you'd either have to get someone to make them for you custom, or look for a beater Grip for cheap as a donor.

Spyderco has a rebuild kit for the Delica and Endura but those are the only parts I know of they sell. They don't even offer replacement blades which Benchmade does. Have you contacted Benchmade? I would think you would have a better chance of buying parts from them than some other companies including Spyderco.

What are you thinking of doing that you think you will ruin the liners?

I would like to re=shape the handle to allow the index finger to get closer to the blade. Which would require grinding back the liners, which protrude from the handle material there, at the index finger (and also where the jimping is, just below the spine of the blade when opened, although I don't mean to mess with that).

The Wilkins Grips scales are nice but (1) expensive (2) not exactly what I want (3) it's more fun to do it yourself.

Guess I'll have to look for a beater donor . . . .

So you want to grind a finger choil into it? That would be possible but like you say you would have to grind into the liners as well as the scales. Well shoot now that I look at it... What if you ground down the plastic just to the front of the liners and then left the liners alone. It doesn't look like very much room that you would gain but once you turn it into a concave style grind instead of the convex it has now I think it might just work for a lot of people. The only problem I can see is that the scales are actually hollowed out with ribs as supports. If memory serves me right even the very front of the scales are hollowed out so it would leave a gap in between the liner and the scale. You would have to fill the hollow of the scale with something if you wanted it to look semi good/ have strength at the front. I have contemplated filling the hollows of my griptilians with fiberglass and might do it soon. I think the glass bedding that you use for bedding an action of a rifle would work awesome for this. ( You can find this at any sporting goods store). Epoxy would probably work just fine also. Please take pics if you end up doing it.
