I tried to go to the Himalayan Imports website today and then saw the announcement about the closure. With HI off the board, what are the good go to vendors for kukri style knives?

Thank you.

Thanks, I will check them out. Is Atlanta Cutlery any good?

I'd skip Atlanta Cutlery, their current (not antique) real kukries are just rebranded Windlass stuff, and always needs some finishing done by the buyer. That was fine when they were $15-30 knives, now that they're closer to $100, I'd buy something else.

For traditional top tier in my eye right now would be Kailash or the English seller Tora.

Middle tier but good, would be Kukri House or EGKH. They're good buys, but lack some of the hand work and personality of the top tier stuff.

I concur re Kailash and Tora. I think Tora had some controversy here over a decade ago, but I had no issue ordering from them and love the khuk I received. Kailash gets my vote though as you can fully customize a knife to fit your wants and they are fairly active and accessible here on the forums.

I would warn against EGKH (Ex Gurka Khukuri House). The one I received from them had a blade with a terrible heat treat; it could not hold an edge and rolled terribly when chopping through soft, thin pine branches.
