there is guy on ebay that sell all manner of micarta, every color you can think of and is quite reasonable too. I have bought some nice Hot Pink and Electric Green from him for a special knife. He also sells micarta pin stock so you can either buy a contrasting color for the pins or make the handle look unpinned with the same color. Micarta pins are actually quite strong and look good and they are easy to work with too. The best part is that you can sand them just like the micarta so you can shape the handle and pins as needed without a lot of muss and fuss. He also sells tubes of micarta so you can do it all with micarta, scales, pins and your lanyard tube. He will even take special orders on colors so if you want him to make you say, Army Digicam, he will. It just takes him some time to get it set up and pressed out.
Update on the Micarta Guy, he no longer makes the micarta himself and if you want tubes or rods, they are limited to whatever sizes and colors left on the shelf. He doesn't list them any longer online so you have to contact him about them. What a bummer! Wish I had a picture of at least one of the handles I did all in micarta but sadly that was precamera ownership.
Anyway, it is a cool way to do one and someone must still be selling the stuff needed to make it happen if you decide to try that route. I know I am gonna keep looking now that this guy is out of the game so I can always know where to get the necessaries in case I get a wild hair.
