Anyone have a source for nickel silver (or stainless steel) cutler's rivets, of the type, or similar to, used on higher end kitchen cutlery like Wustof, Sabatier, Henkel's, etc.
I have brass, but can't find a silver looking rivet to replace the originals used in these knives, when I replace old handles. In the past I have just used NS rod, but would like to find some closer to the originals.
Thanks,
Brome

Jantz Supply has them in their new catalog, Brome.
Their number is 1800-351-8900.
They offer them in one size, in packages on 25 or 1000, here's the item numbers and descriptions-
RV225-5/16 BY 1/2 25 SETS $4.59
RV200-5/16 BY 1/2 1000 SETS $89.95

They also have them in stainless but they're 3/16 by 3/8 and a little cheaper.
When you place an order with them they'll send you a free catalog. I've been doing business with Jantz for 5 or 6 years and they're an excellent company.

Well, thanks.
I guess I just didn't look hard enough. I have catalogs from both of those folks, but they are a few years old; haven't ordered from either in a few years. I buy most of my materials at shows, and much of it from K&G's and Tru-Grit's tables.
Thanks again,
Brome

If you look at the link that Mike Hull posted above it also shows the blind bolts. I like those a WHOLE lot more that I did when I tried cutlers rivets. Just my 2¢ worth.

i like chicago screws and have found them in aluminum, brass, and steel at Lowes in the drawers where the specialty screws and half round keys are, and at another local hardware store. :D
