I've got a great piece of steel (cable) but, I don't know what the heck it is. Ahhhh. Need someone who can analyze it and tell me what the heck this is. Don't want to forge it in a can with 1084 powder and end up with a great big block of 1084.

J,

I work as a maintenance supervisor in a steel mill. Consequently I have access to the spectragraph machine we use to analize our heats. Used it last night when I found a piece of O1 2"x36"x5/32";) The steel test piece needs to be flat to get an accurate reading, but if you could give me even a two inch flat piece I could give you a complete analysis printout of it and would do so at no charge but for shipping. Let me know if I can help. I feel I owe all you guys something for all the info I scam off of you!:D
