Does anybody know where I can get some washers like the ones that come with a tek-lok? I've found hardware kits for the tek-loks but they are expensive.

I want to use some around the chicago screws I use on my Kydex sheaths.

I want thick and thin if possible.

I need to check the local hardware store... not sure if the kind they have would be any good.

Hardware store. 00 rubber washers. Should be with the plumbing supplies. Alternatively, you can just use a small strip of Kydex as a spacer, which is what I do quite a bit. The washers that come with the new TL's are way too thick in my opinion.

It's pretty easy to find the washers, but does anybody know a good bulk supplier for good Chicago screws?? The ones I get when I buy Tek Loks with hardware are great, but I haven't found any comparable ones for sale by themselves yet. Mcmaster Carr, Northern, etc. I've looked all over and can't find any that don't look cheap or cheesy. I want something very close to what you get with original Tek Lok hardware.

Sorry for the hijack, I figured it was related enough:o

McMaster sells them too, as does Screwpost.com, and Tandy Leather.

I generally buy from mcMaster, and buy some nice 8-32 screws to match.

Look up binding posts.

Try www.usaknifemaker.com I think they have what you need. I need to check the above mentioned sources also, I am always on a quest to get the hardware looking just how I want it.

No thread jack in my opinion... I enjoy the discussion, it's like a bunch of knifemakers getting together in person. :D

I buy a specific brand of washer for doing repairs on faucets in black only, but, I do know that some manufacturers make all of the sizes, 00, 1/4, 1/4L etc in various colors if you want them to be an accent piece as well... Just googled and Brass Craft has them in ten or so different colors for the various sizes. Bibb Washers are the correct name.....

Thanks! I need to check them out too, they seem to have everything at mcmaster. I just got some 8-32 screws for handles... gotta find the best for what I want so I like to try several sources.

Cool, I'll check them too. I'm going by the local hardware store today for some 00 washers. Thanks!

I buy all my chicago screws from screwpost.com. I usually get 500 at a time. They are sold per/100 for cheap. I use different screws than the ones they com with though. I use 8-32 black phillips head screws. Never had a problem.
