Can yis help me find a source for say 1/8" paracord pls? I've found 3/16" but it is really too thick for cordwrap and lanyards and all those other doodads. TIA.

You can find all sorts of different thicknesses of cord at your local climbing store; all the way from 3 mm up. They usually have lots of colors too.

Mon Dieu! (slapping forehead) :) cheers, will try it today...
(you speak metric!! :D )

I like the 2mm cord for neck knife lanyards. Some people dont feel the same though. Lots of people feel that anything that goes around your neck should be break away, in case some lunatic decides to try to strangle you with your own neck knife lanyard. I dont worry too much about that; I worry more about losing the knife. I use 2mm cord that is colored to blend in a little with my skin color. I get my cord from a local climbing/camping store.

Try a place that does auto upholstery. I have also seen it at places that supply commercial fishermen. Both sell it by the yard/metre quite inexpensively. Hope this helps.

Kia Ora Phil (CHOICE!), nice to see a fellow Kiwi :)
Well I tried the climbing shops...no paracord...loads of shock cord, karabiners, ascenders and other cools gadgets but no paracord...off to check Greg's link (thanks)

Close...I'm after black/khaki/camo/tan...the usual cheerful colours in 1/8" or 3mm

Ferret:- Email me your address, and I'll send you few metres of each color. The one I use is just a tad smaller than1/8"
:)

Hello Ferret

Sorry, I'm not really a Kiwi. I am really a Canuck. I haven't gotten into the rugby and cricket yet. I have developed a taste for Vegemite and the boys have learned to eat pies just like the other kids here.

By the way, we are living in Napier. Which part of NZ are you from?

Phil

"Paraparaumu " Ahhh, that explains it.....:p :D

Ferret, how the heck are you supposed to pronounce that? You're not putting us on now are you? :)
