Source of "highrider" pocket clips for ZT 0560/1?

I've decided that having a bit more of the knife to grab is probably better for the way I intend to use it. I know that the Hinderer clips will work with the 560/1 but they're like $60 a piece. Are there any off-the-shelf clips that would work?

I agree. I just don't care for that extra step it takes to get a good grip on it.

I started carrying karambits and really liked the grip you can get with that ring, coupled with the wave opening. I put a wave on my 561 that works really well but it always feels like I'm on the verge of dropping it compared to the security of the karambit. Having a bit more to grab would help a lot.

Paracord is a lot less expensive. Tie a short fob on the end. Works like a charm for me.

I went ahead and did the Hinderer clip, such a huge improvement! Hit it with some 400 grit and scotchbrite and it matches the Ti really well. No deep carry clips for me!

I have had success with benchmade's clip, it rides really low and lines up with the 2 holes perfectly,

Well, it's sort of too flexible. I need to lever against the back of the pocket as I'm pulling it out and a fob is just too "floppy." I've thought about wrapping paracord around a ring but the handle is already longer than my fist by quite a bit so adding more on would be that I have to readjust after it's pulled out which is more wasted time. Anyway, I just need something with a simple geometry and the right distance between holes. It must be a standard and even in Titanium shouldn't cost more than $5 to $10. Ideally I could put one on each side so I can switch pockets depending on the circumstances. I've checked a few places that sell knife parts but haven't run across anything promising yet.

To tell the truth I'm not even sure that deep carry clips are legal in Virginia. You can't carry concealed knives which means that it has to be showing "as a knife." I'm sure that's not going to be a law enforcement priority, but the carry laws on knives are sort of goofy here. I have a CCW but it doesn't apply to a knife. Pretty weird, I know.

LOL. I'll get 4 and put one on every corner! (Beautiful knife, btw.)

If I understand the OP correctly a clip that rides low is exactly what he does NOT like.

BTW 60$ for a Hinderer clip? Really?

For an anodized one with matching filler tab, yes. Not sure what a regular one goes for, or where to find one.

Deep Pocket carry for folding knives is 100% legal in VA, CCW permit or not. And yes, you can carry a folding knife concealed...how do you think I carry my Peanut around? :D If you're getting flack from local PD about your knives and how you carry them, contact the VA State Police and reference VA Code Section § 18.2-308. When you carry a fixed blade concealed you will wind up with your ass in a sling if you're caught.

And as for the small fob, i use a hangman's knot about an inch long, and it adds to the grip length of the knife.

I carry a copy of that in my glove compartment. Most LEOs don't know everything in it. It's just common sense to me that if I carry concealed (and I always do) I should know the laws myself. Kinda stupid to not know them if you ask me.

Good to know. I made a cobra knot fob for it that's pretty nice, but drawing the knife with it is still kind of a droopy affair and I don't really need more length on the handle. It's too long as it is, although still feels good in the hand when choked up. Have checked some more knife parts places and still haven't quite found what I'm looking for although there are a few that may work.
