I am looking for some reliable internet source for diamond powder/compound/slurries and some suggestion on what to get: Powder or compound or slurry. A size recommendation would be helpful, too.

Also looking for CBN sources in small quantity.

It is easy to find vendors on the internet, but I am not familiar with any of them and handamerica's webpage seems to be down.

Thanks in advance.

That's a list of suppliers of all sorts of stuff (including diamond pastes and sprays and CBN compound and slurry) for our sickness (abrasives, instructions, and high-end kitchen cutlery).

www.us-products.com sells both diamond and CBN in paste and slurry and in amounts which are economically feasible.

Graves International also sells such things: http://www.gravescompany.com/polishin.htm

Remember, whenever looking for hard-to-find abrasives, go to BFC, KFC, or Fred's place and search out posts made by Yuzuha first.

This is my sprays 6, 3 and 1 micron:

It is from as I understand:
Crystalite
8400 Green Meadows Dr.
Westerville, Ohio 43081

and

Crystallite
13449 Beach Ave.
Marina del Rey, California90291

The other sprays 0.3 and 0.15:

Micromite Diamond Spray
Lapcraft Company, Inc.
195 W. Olentangy Street
Powell, Ohio 43065

Hope it will help. I got them from local shop for jewelers.

Thanks, Vassili.

Thanks everybody for the responses. I will check them out. Seems I will go with the slurry instead of the compound.

shocky????. Thom...sometimes I just can't follow you :D.

The spray is a slurry. So I figure I get the slurry and supply the spraybottle myself :). The powder comes in carats instead of grams....that just freaks me out....yeah I am storing my 5 carats of diamond in a plastic cup....:D.

Sorry. Shocky is from the movie "Flushed Away." It's the nickname of a young sewer mouse who mildly electrocutes other denizens for entertainment. When his family learned that the main character lived alone, they asked him a barrage of questions including:

"No one to love you?"

"No one to hold you tight on a cold night?"

"No shocky?"

What sort of suspension will you be using? Glycerin?

Still got to watch that movie :).

Well, aside from the listed source in this thread, this webpage looks pretty good (except for the absolutely obnoxious music):

They offer their slurries in different concentrations and offer waterbased, oilbased and universal slurries. I don't know what chemicals they use for each. I figure, I just go with the waterbased medium concentration. Haven't decided what sizes I will be using. Very likely 0.25 micron (average size always), 0.5 micron, 1 micron and maybe 3 micron and 6 micron? Might go "heavy concentration" on the cheaper ones. Should run me about $50. The 1 micron size is unproprotionally cheap. Maybe I start only with 6, 1 and 0.25. I definitely want to try whether I can use diamonds on MDF as a waterstone substitution at lower grits. That's why I want to get the 6 micron stuff.
