All through college, I carried a P38 can opener. Yet, somehow, after moving and going to grad school, the sucker vanished.

Any good places to pick the little guy up? Most places online are positively usurious- $4-5 to ship a 50c opener.

The last ones I bought were at an Army/Navy Surplus store, but I noticed the other day that Ace Hardware had Coughlan's branded ones in the sporting goods aisle. I don't remember how much they cost (maybe a dollar or two?), but it was less than the $4-$5 shipping you mentioned, and it was for a package of 2.

I've been wanting to get one again, too.

Everybody ought to have a few of 'em.

Why? I have one that sits in a drawer. I don't think I've ever used it for anything as I always seem to have a SAK in pocket and/or some kind of tool on my keychain (these days it's a Screwpop).

Link. But shipping is gonna be something like $8.00, so you might want to load up on other toys while you are there.

Another link. Not sure what shipping is here.

From the guide lines spelled out in the sticky of this forum.
