So my buddy is a New Zealander, and I joke about him being Australian all the time. Somehow (beers) I came up with the idea of having a kangaroo cookout in his honor.

However, short of going to Australia and harvesting myself, I haven't seen any attractive options yet. The one or two places I did find on the web were about $40 something a lb, and I am ok with that I guess, I just wondered if anybody else has gotten any 'roo meat anywhere, and if so, could recommend a place. I haven't ordered exotic meats online before, and it seems a lil iffy.

Thanks

Check out the local butchers. This was a gift from one of my daughters. From one of her local butchers.

Thats great, I knew somebody on here had kangaroo before! What state did you get it in? I'm MD here, and haven't investigated local butcher shops yet. How did you cook it, like a steak?

The butcher is in Alexandria, Virginia. Just put it in marinade then grill it. Like most game meat it is very lean.
