Hello Beckerheads and friends of Beckers,
I now have a BK2,BK4,BK7,BK9,BK10 and Camillus Campanion Serrated. This is my first post this forum. I have read the "Stickies" and the lists of information at the beginning and
many of your threads and posts for a long time and learned a great deal. I don't have a workshop or the skills many of you have for customizing my Beckers.
So could you recommend some sources for the stainless steel hardware, micarta handles and some people that could do custom work on my Beckers, please?

Hello, I haven't had much experience in that area but one person I have found to be a great source it 710 customs. JD makes a fine set of handles for my BK-7 and at a great price too, They also come with a set of stainless hardware for each set of scales. Thats pretty much as far as my experience goes and for "other custom work" I'm not sure what custom work on beckers you can't do with the simplest tools but I'm sure somebody one the forums here will help you out.

SS hardware at Lowes or Home Depot. I found mine in the drawers at Home Depot. not hanging on a peg.

The BKT Blade Database sticky has the measurements for all the BKs.

I stole this info from another thread on BK2 mods:

Stainless hardware with Nylok nuts. (Thanks Derek).
One of the cheapest, easiest mods there is.
Keeps the harware from rusting and looks pretty classy.
Socket Head Cap screws are #10/32 x 5/8"(fine), or #10/24 x 5/8"(coarse).

I was going to hit Lowes or Home Depot on the way home and check it out.

Edit: For micarta scales, it looks like at least three supporting vendors have them in stock:

I've bought stuff from all three at this point and they seem to have good service and prices.

SS cap screws can be found at any hardware store. I used low profile mil-spec nylon lock nuts on my Beckers. They are about 1/4 - 1/3 thinner than lock nuts. The only place I could find them in small quantities was McMaster-Carr. Depending on the knife, you may need a washer under the nut and/or trim the shank of the screw with a Dremel so make sure you get a few extra nuts so you can trial fit them.

This is good to know - I didn't put standard S.S. lock nuts on my 16 as they were proud of the scales and looked uncomfortable. Maybe I'll see if Fastenal has them. Good tip!
