It was an awesome show with plenty of knives ranging from natural wood, to textured G10 and CF. CPM-S35VN to M390....all makers bumped it up to another level this year!

IKBS was taken up to another level of smoothness!

All video can be watched in HD

The smaller one is still in the white and has a blade ground by Rob Brown. It features some of the best 3D relief carving.

The larger one is just breathtaking with some unbelievable ivory carving.

This beautiful "Weeping Heart" Left handed Parrying Dagger from Master Smith Kevin Harvey absolutely blew me away. It has a fantastic two billet twist pattern triple ground blade with some wonderful personal touches including an inscription commemorating Kevin's 30 year anniversary as a custom knifemaker.

Kevin's Protege and now a Guild member in his own right Rucus Coetzee made this beautiful drop point.......Can you believe that he is only 21 years old!

One of the newest, most promising, and improved members of the KGSA is Neill Schutte. He has spent some time this past year with Loveless Master Rob Brown and it shows in his knives. His work is beautiful and clean and I will be buying many more of his knives in the future.
Neil is definitely someone to watch out for in the future.

Wow what in incredible market in South Africa that I did NOT know about. Love it all, thanks for sharing marthinus!

Gorgeous knives! Thanks for posting, Marthinus!

Those Des Horn pieces in carbon fibre are particularly stunning...

Awesome stuff, marthinus. Thank you for sharing!

Was this where you got to talk with Chris Reeve?

Prof.

BTW, my personal favorite is that Coetzee drop point. Very puukko-ish and utilitarian, yet gorgeous!

Im really loving Andre E Thornburn's L36 knife. If I could get one in CF Id be smiling ear to ear.

The videos make the blades look like they glide on air when deploying.

Gotta start saving

Some really beautiful looking knives here... Nice to see some of the SA makers.
Thanks for the pics et al - much appreciated.
(I met Des Horn a couple of times - very nice man.)

No Chris only arrived a week after the show. He had a local "Indaba" (meeting) at the retail store of his local distributer. (Sharp Edge)

This knife is a beauty and Andre has just produced an improved prototype which I saw and will soon be available. I am sure he could do it in CF. PM me if you need any contact details or if I can help you in any way.

Cheers........Steven:)
