South African Project I

I have a couple of SA made knives, a Jereboam and a large dagger . Both appear to match the current knives in terms of quality in every respect.
I think CR products have evolved in terms of design however quality has always only been one thing, the best.

Do all CR knives have a compass in the hex tail cap?

PS - The knife I have is a Project I (plus sheath) stamped "Made in South Africa" and a serial number of 552. Any thoughts as to its value? It was given to me as a gift and I want to reciprocate properly.

Neither of mine have a compass in the hex butt cap, I am sure CRK could confirm if they ever fitted these as an extra.
Your SA made P1 will have a premium over a USA made one .
I reckon it may be worth @ $450 assuming mint condition, however I could be way off the mark, I have based this on what I paid for my duo.

is there any diference between S.A. projekt and new one made today?
is it possible that you post some pics?

You learn something new everyday. Thought the Shadow 1 and 2 were South African made, and the Project 1 didn't come around until manufacturing in the US started.

Very cool.
