South African Sable I, Double Strike!

I was fortunate in recently obtaining this old Sable I (9"blade) made in South Africa. After a closer look under a magnifying lamp the # 31 strike was...or seems to have been a #11 . Very unusual! (see pics)

I feel like I am collecting coins again! Double strikes or Dble Dies as they are called in coin collecting, are highly sought after as they are not intended to leave the mint and are RARE! Great find and a sure keeper either way.

Yup, a definite "keeper":thumbup: it will be placed in a shadow box and mounted on my den wall before the weekend.
