South-Central Texas Chop-Off update: We have a possible location!

Howdy everyone!
BePrepared and myself have been searching for some time to find a possible place for a chop-off sometime this fall.
I have found a possible location near Boerne, Texas that may suit the requirements. All are welcome to come bearing Bussekin and any other blades that will "hack" it, with "it" being lots and lots of Cedar trees (also known as juniper). All I can say at this point is that this location will be on land managed by Texas Parks and Wildlife, and not currently open to the public.

We have NOT set a date yet, but, due to school I am projecting sometime around Thanksgiving, maybe even as late as December. This will give the weather time to cool off sufficiently to keep from melting the attendees:D

we'll try to schedule it for the time when the most people can attend. Perhaps just before the open of deer season. Last weekend in october would be cool enough to have fun, but wouldn't interfere with hunting
 
Like I said gents, it's still up in the air. I honestly forgot about deer season... usually hunt very late in the season or for hogs.

Wait the temp. gets cool in Texas. :p Hope you guys have a great time. Sounds like a good time.
 
This sounds like a great time, but I'm going to have to agree with Josh. Waiting until the temperatures in Texas cool down a bit is a great idea. :thumbup:
 
Season for us starts 10/1 to 2/28. MLD permits do make it enjoyable. 3rd week in October looks good.

You got MLD Permits???? Please enlighten me how to do that, I just learned of them recently and kinda forgot what with school and such.
Hindsight, it DOES actually cool down here... around late September, early October, although I remember last fall still being really hot.
