Believe it or not, I was working when I took these pictures. The grounds are well kept, hats off the crew they done a great job. I am working in the Irrigation controller retro fit project on this one of many parks in Los Angeles county.
We have a lot of work to do, but this one is precious. I am thoroughly impressed at the quality of this landscape, and I get to see the good, the bad, and the ugly. This one is great. Municipality managed sites are thier own animals. I am pretty impressed with LA county parks, for they keep their parks pretty nice, but this one is a jewel. I hope our controllers save them water, and keep the grounds beautiful. It can be done, but it will be a daunting task. I am all in, and proud to be a part of this project.
Hope you enjoy the pictures. I was here today to get one of the controllers linked up to the web. They each have a modem, and link through GPRS communication, which means nothing to me, I am a horticulture guy with a minor in Irrigation design. I do not mind if you call me flower boy, for this is spectacular.
My wifey oooohed and ahhhhed at this iceplant bloomer, but it literally is March April then gone. I like a longer blooming period, but it is impressive none the less. Lampranthus spectabilis, IIRC.
that is blue spike iceplant, and makes a great ground cover. If you throw in some orange succulents and some crimson red Aoeniums aka Black Beauty Aoenium, you are a Hollywood Hills green industry mother earth worshippin' landscape designer tree hugging super star. Trust me, I know about these things..
LOL.
Not too shabby for a parking lot!
Verbena, early for the year, but hey, when it blooms it is spectacular.
