This is definitely not the most complex knife I've made, but it is one of my favorites.

The blade was forged down from 1" round W-1
Although you would probably think I used clay during the hardening process, it actually came down to time/temperature/quenchant.

The guard is triple stacked 416 stainless with Kydex spacers that I surface ground down very thin.

The handle is presentation grade Ironwood burl with mosaic pin

Hand-stitched 9/10 oz. leather sheath

Thanks for looking!!! :)
Nick

Again, thanks to BladeGallery for selling this knife for me, and for the great pictures!

Here's a view of the other side, which shows the hamon quite a bit better than the view of the right side :)

That is one extra fine piece of steel you got there ! someone is a happy camper....

Count me in!

Now THAT'S a handle that makes no apologies for it's ratio. I like it.

Nick,

That knife rocks! The blade looks similar to the one you did for me, which is a good thing. Good to have you back with us

Beautiful blade profile and a vibrant hamon. Cool stuff. No wonder this one was available for 12, maybe 15 seconds. You've got a real winning design with these hunters, Nick.

Cheers,

Roger

Keith - that IS one sweet piece! I handled it at Nick's shop while he was finishing up mine... I was really torn leaving that one on the table  - do I go for hunters or personal bowies?? Well... I went with the personal bowie and left this one... But someone will really score with this one - balance is amazing, fit'n'finish are totally up to Nick's standards and the blade is simply elegant...

Speaking of personal bowies, I keep coming back to this one and imagining it with about a 5 1/2" blade and small double-guard. Insert Homer Simpson drool here.

Roger

Love the knife. But why did you elect to go with kydex when black spacer material is readily available? Nice work Nick.

Great looking hunter, I especially like the blade
shape, and finish.

You know, You have quite a fan in Danbo. He's
shown me some of your work and it's all been
top notch.

Hope to meet up sometime....maybe swap secrets

I come here to browse the forums and find you guys talking about MY new knife

actually it was about 10, 15 minutes. Daniel was helping someone else when I called and I was worried that someone on the internet would buy it before he called me back.

I was going to wait until the Reno show to buy myself a late Christmas present but I saw this and it was love at first sight.

I'll be sitting on my front porch waiting for Mr. Fed Ex in the morning.

I'm saving the pic on my computer for keeps. Complex project ? Well, you pulled it off and it rocks ! Jason.
