South Korea: info/suggestions?

Hey, this is my first post. I'm going to Seoul for a month and was thinking about taking a folder with me for EDC purposes. Does anyone have any information about carrying laws/airport customs there? Any suggestions for what to bring? Something inexpensive and simple would be best.

Hello,

I have lived, studied, and worked in Seoul for 11 of the past 22 years. Knives are a bit tricky here. There are many rules, but they are quite randomly enforced.

The shorter and more harmless they look the better, obviously. I EDC a Mini Griptilian with no problems. And I don't believe there is any distinction made between open and concealed carry.

Make sure to check out Knife Gallery in Insa-dong. They have just about everything from cheap folders to $25,000 antique Japanese swords.
