This kinda got sidelined in my other thread, the 2000 301 I bought recently has a label on the box that says.

B301-00-0"

A barcode of:33753 02587 7

and "ASSEMBLED IN MEXICO"

Was curious, has Buck had knives assembled in Mexico, or was this refering to box?
 
Made a quick check of 15 green boxes, on one the sticker on side says: B303-00-0, Bar code: 33753092039 Assembled in Mexico. Warranty paper inside, was one of the prize drawing eras. :confused:
 
For a short while, I think it was one year, we had some of our 300 series put together in Mexico.
Usually the last 4 digits of the bar code number are the catalogue number. 2587 is the cat. number for the 301. I checked 2039 and it definetely is not a 301 number. Could you have missed a digit? Either that or we mislabled that one. Makes it more collectible right? :D
 
Jeez another variation to look for, that will make 97 or 98 give or take one or two. Actual sticker # 33753 09203 9 underneath the bar code is B303-00-0:thumbup:
 
I vote that this is not a variation in knife only in box. How would would you tell they were originals as packed unless all of that year marked were assembled there ? Bar code # was 33753 09203 9
