It seems that there are few knife makers catering to the left-handed friends among us. This one is marked H. Rowbotham & Co Sheffield Limited. It seems quite old, but I do not have any definitive information at the moment. If you have any, please let me know. In the mean time, please post any e.g.s of left-handed knives.

Where did you find that? I've just adapted to using my index finger instead of my thumb nail. I think it would be almost strange to open it the right- uh- left way.

Okay, that's cool. Even if the nick was on the other side, that would still be a cool knife in it's basic and simple self.

Here's another knife with a lefty main blade.

These were made for the military of various Commonwealth countries by many different manufacturers . From the look of the blade on your knife, Rowbotham could have been one of them.

The odd thing, to me anyway, is that all the ones I remember seeing are left-handed. This is not in keeping with the military's usual one-size-fits-all approach, and there is plenty of room to put the nail nick on the other side of the blade.

IIRC, Wenger made a model or two of their SAKs with the tools set up for lefthanders.

Case has done limited runs of some of it's knives for southpaws, mostly for Shepard Hills Cutlery.

And I am now carrying a Wenger SAK I got last week of Ebay that is a left handed version.
