Southard clip mod

I lightly contoured the pointy end,just a little to make it more round, and bead blasted both sides. What do ya think? Took every bit of 10 minutes, if not less..1.jpg3.jpg
 
I must say it looks like a big improvement over the normal clip:thumbup:

That Looks Great. I don't know why Brad Southard wanted a point on the clip..............

Almost anything is a big improvement over the Shiny clips Spyderco is using on a lot of their knives. No I'm Not knocking your modd at all.

I don't like the shiny clip on my Southard either. I put it in my brass tumbler with stones for 5 hrs to sw the clip. I rounded the end the way you did too.

Big Improvement over the orginal!

I hated the clip so much that I ordered an STR lowrider before the Southard. Luckily they arrived on the same day. Couldn't be happier. I see a lot of these threads and realize the clip must be the main negative about the Southard, not much else bad to say. Here's to hoping the Southard 2 fixes it.

could be wrong, but i don't think there has ever been an upgrade model of a collaboration

Haha No, far worse. I recently received a new Shun Kaji 8'' chef's knife, and I was dicing some red bell peppers. My girlfriend talking to me broke my concentration, I ran out of pepper and found the tip of my thumb. Sliced it smooth clean off. I've been using a only santoku knife for the last 3 years, so the different shape is taking a little getting used to. But it's sweet blade, let me tell ya! Razor sharp, and I love it!


Also, thank you guys for the kind words..I may try a stone wash, see if I can do it. I've got some canvas and black linen micarta I'm gonna try and make some new scales with. I like modding this knife!

The third (I believe) Goddard is coming out. They don't call them 1,2,3 but they are just called Goddard's and get upgraded and improved. I think they have also all be sprints.
