Looking for a Ti framelock flipper with a bearing pivot and good steel and ergos somewhere around ~$200 actual retail. Looks like the domino is about $185, the 0561 about $195, and the southard around $220 - any other high quality options I'm missing? Opinions between these three? I'm a mechanic and don't baton thru Jeeps or whatever, but I do use my knives frequently. Looking for a snappy manual flipper.

I only have the Southard and am pleased with the quality and build of this knife. It should last a lifetime if not abused. Hope you get other suggestions.

I love the Southard. If you go to the auction site be careful lot of fakes floating around.

0561 is a tough knife that should be good for the things a mechanic does. Let me throw out another capable suggestion. The Todd Rexford-designed Zero Tolerance 0801. I just got one last week and let me tell you this thing is one of the best manual flippers I've ever had.

KVT bearing system, 3.5" Elmax blade, solid Ti handles and the price is right in your budget. Check it out. You may like what you see. If not, all the knives you listed are pretty damn awesome.

Wait for the zt0562!

Isn't the 0562 AO?

I forgot about the 801. Beautiful knife. Iffy on all alum handles since my hands are frequently greasy.

Any others from other companies I forgot?

Edit: I meant Ti handles. Still a bit slippery. That's why I traded my 0770 for an 0550.

+1 for the 0801. I think the flipping action on the 0801 is a little better, but I like the ergos of the 0560 a little more. Can't go wrong with either. I haven't handled a Southard or Domino, so I can't speak to those.

The only downside to the ZT0561 is that it is rather large (for some people/local laws). But if that's not a problem, then it is a great knife. I love mine.

The 0560 is well worth it.
Can't go wrong with any of the 3 you names but the 560 is the one I go back to more than the others.
It's a fun one to customize as well!
That said...I'm really wanting an 0562 myself but who knows when they will be readily available?

I'm in NC. Most big folders don't raise an eyebrow thankfully. I get more compliments than evil glares with my waved endura :-)

You are thinking 0566. 0562 is kvt

I had a Southard, didn't care for it at all, sold it and got a ZT0801--fabulous knife. I really like my Brous Bionic as well.

All great knives. After trying all of them the southard is my favorite. Especially since you're using it on the job as a mechanic and time = money, I'd recommend the southard since its the fastest to remove and return to the pocket in my experience.

Today I received an 0801, its an awesome knife. First all metal knife I've handled in a long time that I dig this much.

I'm personally not a fan of all metal handles. Being a mechanic you should probably take into consideration that greasy/oily hands will make all metal handles dangerously slippery. If I were you and looking for a work specific EDC I'd be inclined to get something with as grippy a handle as possible, something easy to clean (degrease), and something with a decent finger guard in case of slippage along the handle. Last thing you want is to slide onto the blade and put a big slice into your fingers.
I think that out of the options mentioned so far that the Southard should fit the bill for your specific situation. Another consideration is the DPx Hest folder. Grippy G10 on one side, frame lock (no bearings I don't think) and decent finger guard.
