Southard or Domino?

Im having a very hard time deciding between the Southard and Domino! Ive had the money saved for few weeks now to pick one of the two up but keeping going back and fourth between them. Both have certain things like like better than the other. So if you had to pick one which would it be and why?

I'd pick the Southard. Bigger. Beefier. Better clip. The Domino is great too. I'd take the Domino xhp over the Southard's 204p. The domino has a lock bar insert which could be considered a plus. They're pretty similar knives. It may just boil down to aesthetics and which one is calling to you. :D

I like them both too very much. I would opt for the Southard. I like the slimmer profile , the thicker blade and the more heavy duty titanium handle. Sometimes I need a break from the leaf shaped blades so the Domino takes a back seat to the Southard right now for me.

I have a few of both.

Overall, the domino was the most useful blade shape, better flipper and i like the looks more (blue carbon fiber version)

I have and enjoy both. Love the different design aspects of each. The spidey hole on the Southard is a shame but it's much more compact in the pocket than the Domino so it does get carried frequently. The Domino is a more crisp flipper and the xhp steel and thin geometry make it easy to strop to scary sharp.

I'll buy the Dice when it's introduced as well.

I have both. If only one I would recommend the Domino. It is a better cutter, and at the end of the day the thick Southard gets left behind because of it more often than the Domino. They both see limited time anyway due to the Mili, PM2, Gayle Bradley, and some others.

Own both.. a few of each, cause I kept buying and selling them. The Southard is awesome, but I like the Domino better for the same reasons people like the Southard better. The Southard is thicker in handle (one side thicker than the other cause the scale), and the overall length of the knife is bigger too. Tough urban carry for me. The Domino lays flat in pocket, and is of a more pocket friendly size. They are both great, and you can't go wrong either way.

IMO, it depends on what you like. The Southard has a much larger blade when open, and is much smaller in the pocket when closed. On the other hand, the Domino flips better, has that funky Spyderco tall bladed design and better access to the hole, and is large-handled to the extent that it may be bulky to carry, but it's also very comfortable to use in a variety of grips when open.

If you're into more normal designs, go with the Southard. If you really dig the short, wide blade shape, go with the Domino. The Southard is more normal-ey and the Domino is more Spyderco-ey, if that makes any sense.

Personally, I love the Southard and can't warm up to my Domino at all, but as this thread shows, plenty of people feel the other way around.

I own both and prefer the Southard. Sure it's blade is thicker, but it's never got in my way. They both flip fantastically, but I nod my head to the Southard (at least mine) either way you'll be happy.

I own a Domino blue CF. I feel the Domino is a classier design. To me it was one of those knives that I went Meh when I saw pictures, but then my opinion changed when I held it in my hand.

If you are going to baton with it go with the Domino . If not go with Southard . :D

I have both and I find myself loving the domino at first but the Shouthard has really grown on me. If I had to choose now I would go with the Southard. I love the blade shape and the cutting edge to handle ratio. Just seems much more unique and sexy. Get a aftermarket scale for it and it just looks on a whole new level.
