Thanks brother, I'm still trying to get the hang out posting pictures. I really should resize them next time. My trips are very tame compared to everyone else's.

which waterfall is this? damn bro, call me next time! :-)

lol, I have such a bad memory- I forget which one. We've been hunting waterfalls in the San Gabriel and San Bernardino Mountain ranges. Next up on our list is Fish Canyon Falls. I hear it's the best around, have you been?

great pictures, love the knife :)

:) I can't thank you enough. It's so beautiful, I feel really lucky that I get to hike around with it.

I've only been Crystal Cove SP in Newport for hiking trails and an overnight tent camping once. would like to goto Joshua and the nearby mountain ranges. Saturday I depart for Boulder Utah where I'm going on a 7 day primitive skills learning course. I'm taking my brand new Damon Lusky Ak-1 Bush knife. When I return I will be ready to go anywhere! (well almost) :-)

Nice report and pics. You have a good eye for the thoughtful shot. Hope to read more from you.

Looks like a great time. Those are my old stomping grounds. I haven't hiked there in this century but it doesn't look like it's changed much. That's a good thing.
Thanks for sharing.

Great pics man. A lot of that area looks like an alien environment compared to here. Thanks for sharing the trip.

I'm glad you guys like the pics! Thanks for all the comments. Seeing all the photos and reading all the posts in this forum has really inspired me, I can't thank you guys enough. I wanted to share my neck of the woods.

I used to dislike the scenery around here, probably because I constantly to compare it with other parts of the country. But I'm starting to appreciate it more and more.

Here's some more pics!

Nice pics! I love that area. I am out there sometimes but usually just hit up the San Gabriel's because they are a little closer. I like to go places like the east fork when it gets hot out. Tons of river crossings!

We actually are pretty lucky to have a wide variety of outdoor areas here. Within an hour drive, I can get to the ocean, desert, chaparral covered hills, or all 655,387 acres of Angeles National Forest! I encourage to explore! Check out the It's great that your girlfriend enjoys it as well. My wife comes on a lot of hikes with me and it makes for a great day out.

We have several members here in the W&SS who inspire me with photos from their areas. Just to name a few off the top of my head, and in no particular order, there is Aubrey with his fantastic pics from African plains, Thom and Andrew with their great pics from their wanders in the UK, Ken posts some great pics from Canada, Pit who posts some awesome pics from Vancouver Island, Dr Bill posts some great shots from his outings in Texas, and Reuben who posts some amazing photos from all around the world. There are several more whose names escape me at the moment, but you get the idea. I live vicariously through their photos and enjoy short visits to places I'll likely never see in person. I'm glad you started taking another look at your area and sharing the photos. I see that leaning pine, are you guys having trouble with pine beetles out there too or was it brought down by high winds?
