Ok so ive been on a bowie kick lately. I just got a ontario bagwell fortress from a fellow forum member. And I'm going to be getting a cold steel natchez bowie and maybe a laredo. Ive noticed that the southern comfort sheath from river city seems to be quite popular. To those that own one and carry large bowies regularly what make this design so good? All three of the bowies I mentioned use the loopless frog system of carry. Same as the SC. from looking at the page the SC for the fortess is actually a little wider due to the rivets then the factory sheath. Personaly, kydex isn't usually my first choice for a sheath. Leather just feels better against the skin. Kydex is very hard and angular and always seems to poke me or rub me the wrong way. But from all the positive talk about these sheaths im curious. What makes them so comfortable? And are they really $140 more comfortable then the factory sheath? I dont want to go buy a natchez bowie combo from them and find that i like the factory sheath better.
