I am new to the forum- I used to carry Emerson but lost a $300+ knife with long clip. I have switched over to Southern Grind 6 years ago and am loving their knives. I am currently carrying a copper scale, damasteel damascus spider monkey. I love damasteel and this damascus is polished and is a beauty! The aging of the copper is neat too, giving the spider monkey a new look every couple of weeks.

I have a pretty nice Southern Grind collection to date and will post pictures soon! Keep up the great work Zac Brown and team!

I very much like my CF Spydermonkey. It’s close to a perfect EDC for me.
The copper scales are really cool, but too heavy for my tastes.
I’ve held the Badmonkey. It seems really sturdy in hand.

Overall I’be been impressed. I hope SG can stay afloat for the long term.

4mer_FMF, I have a CF spider monkey as well and am actually carrying it today. She's a beauty! I have a pretty nice Southern Grind collection, including bad monkeys. I will share pictures soon! Love SG quality.

I hear they are manufacturing a lot of EDC traditional folders for DPX and Case as well. I haven't handled these yet but I am sure they are great. Cool to see Case getting a slice of the tactical knife industry.

Ha! I just happen to be carrying mine today too!

I haden’t heard that SG is doing manufacturing for other brands, but that’s excellent if true. It’s my perception that most who own a SG knife are pleased with them. That said, I was a bit hesitant to take the plunge myself, as I saw a less than stellar review about an early production Spider Monkey.

I’m so glad I picked one up.

4mer_FMF, sweet knife and cool picture! I just checked out DPX website and it looks like a lot of their Urban folders are Southern Grind made. The Case XX CG01 is also manufactured by SG. I like to see where they are headed- the future looks bright.

They are excellent knives. I have been carrying a SG Bad Monkey for over 2 years. I purchased a second Bad Monkey and a Spider Monkey. I would recommend either model to anyone looking for a strong well made knife.
Nelly619, I agree. I started with the bad monkey and have scaled down to the spider monkey. Seems to be a better fit for me overall. Also, I love the damascus and SG has not made any Bad Monkeys with damascus that I am aware of. Would love to see that happen though!

I received my SG Spider Monkey with Damascus blade yesterday and it will be my EDC… fit and finish are gorgeous. Blade deploys smoothly, lockup is rock solid with no movement in any direction. Blade is perfectly centered and came razor sharp. So far, I am loving it...

I also just got the Spider Monkey with Damascus blade. It’s a beauty.

Recently I gave my carbon fiber Bad Monkey to a good friend and think I’ll sell my Original carbon fiber Spider Monkey (not Damascus).

I also have the full size and mini Jackal fixed blade fixed blade knives.

I think Southern Grind is a great company and I really respect their products.

I just received my new carbon fiber Spider Monkey with Damascus steel, yesterday, as well. Scott at USA Made Blade helped me out with it and anodized the liners blue for me. I really like how it turned out. The fit and finish appears to be great, to me, but I’m no expert. The small pocket clip is a bit tighter than I would prefer as I had a tough time getting it to clip into my jeans pocket. I’m sure that will loosen up over time. I love the knife and USA Made Blade.

Man I would love to see pictures guys. I haven't looked at these much..
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

They definitely make real cool stuff and are very pleasant to deal with. I’ve moved toward smaller knives so I will have to pick up a spider monkey one day. On my short list.
