I stumbled upon this knife flipping through a magazine a couple of months ago. The only retailer that supposedly carried them was Gander Mountain, but they were sold out. I really wanted to see this blade in person or at least read a couple of reviews before i bought it, but could not find anything. So when I saw the price drop, I took a chance and ordered it. I know some will say it's overpriced for the steel used,etc.. but this thing looks mean, chops great, and I love the quick release tab on the sheath. Definitely not the most practical blade, but that's what my "sensible" folders are for.

I know Machete Specialist carries one of their models. I'm not sure if it's that specific one or not, though. And I'm too lazy to look it up right now. :p (actually, too busy)

The article I read had it listed for 225.00, but I paid 150.00 direct from Southern Grinds website.

Yes, Southern Grind is apparently his company. Never was a fan of his music, but I'm liking this knife!

I am resurrecting this thread cause I know people have to own these things.

How would it compare to a Junglas?

I too, am curious how people like these.. I read they have a differential ht, softer towards the tip?

They quit making the Grand Daddy some time ago but they still make the Grand Daddy 2. We sell them and have never had a complaint. There are some good videos on You Tube about them as well!
