Not Emerson, but all the Southern Grind folders have a true Emerson Wave feature. I assume there must be a licensing agreement between SG & Emerson as the knives are advertised right on their site as having the Emerson wave feature. SG knives are 100% American made just like Emerson.

SG is owned by Zac Brown, leader of the southern rock band of the same name. A buddy of mine went to high school with Zac & we spent a night partying with them when they did a concert here last year.

I had no idea he owned a custom knife company until Zac handed my buddy a folder & said "keep it, my company makes these". It is a nice knife & the wav feature works great.

My son is a huge Zac Brown fan & surprised me with a fixed blade SG knife for Christmas. My son has just started getting into higher class knives & I have given him a Desert Roadhouse & a tan CQC-7v. He carries the Roadhouse everywhere he goes now.

For Christmas, he surprised me with one of these:

This is a seriously bad ass knife, solid as a rock & the black acid wash finish looks awesome with the fancy scales.

I got a bad monkey folder when they started making them. Solid knife that is quite large. Mine has a black blade and the liners are also black. Both liners are ti so it feels a bit blade heavy. The wave is indeed licensed and these are well built. I would recommend them to anyone who likes Emerson knives.

I have a bad monkey and friggen love it. Let me see if I can find the comparison photo thread. There are a few good threads on them. They make me want to buy an emerson.

Riz thanks for the link! Not helping from a standpoint of me wanting one though. LOL.

It is also cool that some of the profit goesto Zack Browns charity

Do any of you have a Southern Grin Rat? If so I would like to hear your thoughts on it.
