Southern Grind Penguin?

I'm in the market for a new knife and ran across the Southern Grind Penguin. Has anyone handled one or own/ed one that could give opinions on It?

I own several Spider Monkeys and Bad Monkeys and have been impressed with their quality so I figured the Penguin would be a great knife as well but would like to hear some first hand experience.

Thanks!

I am curious about this as well. I haven't seen anything on this one and they have been advertising them for at least a year.

I'm sure it's a fine knife, but that pocket clip looks like it'll destroy my upholstery(backpocket).

What's up guys just seen this post. I have 2 penguins. Carries very light, it is also very slim. s90v steel comes scary sharp. Good flipper. Great stonewash. Very well done piece. 390 pricetag is a lil high but southern grind donates all its proceeds. No jimping on the flipper.

Can it be opened using the blade cutout? Or is it a dedicated flipper?

This answer may be longer than what you are looking for. It is late night and I am punch drunk/exhausted from Blade Show, and still at the shop, so bear with me;). I can open it using the cut out, but to me it is a little awkward. With that said I also have a tough time with Spyderco knives without using my finger and thumb to pinch the hole and then flick it open. I can not do the one finger flick on any Spyderco so I did not try it with the Penguin. I think with 20 minutes of practice though I would be able to open the Penguin with the cut out with no problem.

I also have knives from SG and the penguin looks nice but seems a little pricey and I have not really liked s90v on the knives I have had.Now if it came with m390 well that would be another thing.
