When i saw the spider monkey i knew I'd own one. Aesthetics and size perfect. But when i got it, while i didn't hate it, wasn't my favorite knife. Nitpicked things like having to choose between blade centering vs ease of opening. Pocket clip etc.

But knife grew on me this weekend. GF didn't have a sharp knife and i was carrying my SM. It was pressed into seafood duty. Cutting up some ahi and salmon into poke and sashimi. Deveining U10 shrimp. Factory edge was super sharp and it did a wonderful job.

Nothings like preparing a good meal to impart some good mojo into a blade. That knife will always bring back the happy feeling of that meal with your GF.

This was the very process I underwent. Then I got rid of it. It truly is a fantastic piece, It just had a couple of nits I couldn't help but pick.

Maybe a good day of seafood service would have kept it around.

Man, but that looks like a delicious feast though. Well done.

I’ve always liked Southern Grind and have had no complaints on the ones I’ve owned. They are a great company and a pleasure to deal with. I would like to get a Spider Monkey one of these days.
