Finally got this bad boy in , she is a beast. Absolutely in love with this knife. Gave it the full treatment down to 12.5 DPS at 160,000 grit , progression was as follows

Atomas - 140 , 400 , 600 , 1200
Shaptons W/ CBN - 220 , 1k , 1.5k , 2k
Shaptons W/ Poly Diamond - 5k , 8k , 15k , 30k
Nanocloth W/ Poly Diamond - 0.25u , 0.1u (160k)

Heres the before pictures:

And the afters:

Cleanly slices Paper Towel , TP , Paper , sends armhairs flying , whittles hair , cleanly shaves the face...

The S90V is no joke , I found this more difficult than the S110V I've handled , the niobium content in S110V sure makes a difference in carbide size/distribution. Fun stuff.

Now for thinning / CF :D

Immaculate edge. Don't have the equipment nor patience to ever get an edge like that in my life. Looks very impressive to say the least. Can't stop looking at it.:D

Nice work. Did you do it for particular task or just because you can?

Beautiful, great job! If you do thin that edge down, it will absolutely shock you regarding edge retention (not that it's bad now), speaking from personal experience. :D

Thanks for the kind words , if it holds up even remotely comparably to my S110V Manix 2 , then the real challenge should be dulling it.

I did this because I can , and because I am going to EDC this bad boy , I prefer this level of finish over something much coarser.

Great talent, great equipment to sharpen with, and a great knife = stupendous edge :) Nicely done!

I like it a bunch. Sadden, I always enjoy your posts, and read them when I see them. I too am an edge fanatic. I currently only have the tools to go down to .5 microns. I typically go this route on a full re-profile: WE diamonds in 100,200,400,600,800,1000. Then to the WE CERAMICS AT 1200,1600. Then to the UF ceramics (2.5 microns I believe). By then, the edge is a mirror, and easily capable of cutting deep with no pain. Trust me on this one. :) To finish I strop at 1 micron, then .5 micron paste. You and I take different approaches, but I'm thinking we get similar results. Obviously you would get the nod on refinement, as I'm limited to .5 microns at the moment.

I think you are an Edge Pro user correct?

Anyway, thanks for sharing some of your work.

Thank You for the kind words. Diamonds are definately the way to handle these vanadium.rich steels.

I should clarify and add that I use an Edge Pro Professional model.

This is the kind of edge that we should put on our collectible knives -- even the ones we don't use. But in this crazy world, collectible knives with horrible factory edges are worth more than mint knives with beautifully refined edges.

And you did create a beautiful edge. I never bother with edges that refined because it hurts too much to use them and feel them go dull. But I do appreciate them.

Thank you all for the kind words.

Total time was somewhere between 8 and 9 hours. Taking my time and assuring that all previous scratches where gone. S90V was much more difficult to get a clean scratch pattern than S110V.

It was fun cant wait for some.customs to start hitting my doorstep. :)

It's official, I now have edge envy :D Great job. My edges suck, I now feel bad enough to do something about it :)

I came to this area of the forum as a beginner looking for a place to start learning about sharpening.

I now have a goal and a standard.

Amazing work.

Thank you for the kind words , heres a video showing how it performs after being used every day for a month.
