Given Southnarc's reputation....I went into the class knowing that it was gonna be a great class. Having said that, it exceeded my expectations. The material was covered in a very organized progressive fashion with drills in between to reinforce the concepts/techniques. The techniques were also practice in a progressive fashion from consensual, non-consensual 30-50 percent, and all out non-consensual competitive mode. Finally all the techniques were put together for the Evolution drills.
I don't remember the whole syllabus but some of the things covered are the following:
Day 1
Lecture on criminal mindset, Managing Unknown Contacts (MUC), MUC drills, Eye Jab, Default Position, Head positioning drill
Day 2
4 Point Draw Stroke, Live fire practice from positions 2, 3, and 4
Bunch of clinch techniques and drills (overhook, underhook, head positioning, bicep and wrist checks, duck under, armdrag, entanglement/tie ups, etc..)
Ground work
Evolution drills
Day3
More live fire practice from positions 2, 3, and 4 with movement
Drill and emphasis on tight and clean draw stroke from a seated position in a crowded environment
Evolution drill based all of material covered from days 1 and 2
Handgun retention and disarm drills
Final Evolution drill based on all of material covered
I highly recommend Southnarc's ECQC class to anyone wanting to realistically learn how to protection themselves in a weapons based environment. It was a big eye opener and serious reality check for me. I walked away with a ton of knowledge and a realistic personal assessment to help steer my training in the proper direction.
