Here's a Southwest style Bowie knife with etched 1084 blade & heat blued fittings just about ready for leather.

Mr Crawford, that is a nice looking knife, but if I might, I will offer some of what I consider constructive advise.
Your blade and handle profile are lovely, and your grinding looks great, but if you are going to etch a blade, you should probably hand sand it or at least machine grind it to at least 600 grit before etching. Etching only emphasizes the scratch marks.

I like a longer blade as well. This one was made to be legal for carry here in Texas where the max allowable blade length is 5.5".

I did not know the U.S. laws a state has the others are different. Notice that in France it is forbidden

Yep, I was thinking the same thing; about another 4"-5" to Blade for a SW Bowie.
But nice, just the same. :thumbup:
